How do I remove split cooking oils / fats on my gas cooker?

Question:I do keep a clean house and pride myself on it! However, a minor mishap resulted in cooking fat spilling all over my gas cooker, on to the suface plates, the gas jet housing / stems and everywhere. I took it all apart, bought all sorts of clening agents, scrubbed and scrubbed, even left the main body parts to soak (not sure if the main gas fitting items are bronze metal parts or not) but I still cannot altogether remove the stains.
Has anyone got any ideas as to what I should use or do?

I'm a widower & strugglong with this. My late wife would of course have first cursed my disrupting her kitchen then, (under strict orders) I'd have been put to work - with all the necessary agents - to clean up the mess I made!

the best grease remover i have found is something called LA's Totally Awesome. I bought it at the dollar store and it cost, well, a dollar for a 20 oz spray bottle. i use it on everything. good luck.

try mixing in a bowl or a spray bottle water and mild dish detergent and about 3 oz. of white vinegar. spay on surfaces and wipe clean after a few minutes.
Get a bottler of Grease Lighting. You can get that at Walmart or any dollar store. It really work.
In a well ventilated area and with a water hose handy; use oven cleaner but let it work its way for 5-8 minutes only and rinse all residues left. Happy cleaning! If you must need to scrub it after the treatment do so with a soft sponge.

I'm a big fan of WD 40. I've never taken a stove or cooker apart and cleaned with it, but it is a wonderful degreaser. Check their website
GooGone or Desolvit sold at home stores. Spray it on an let it sit for about 5-10 minutes. Or some baked on oil will come off with soft scrub and a 3M scrubber that is made for dishes, not the green commercial type. Good luck.
I have a gas stove at home and when my husband and I clean it we use Thieves. He usually takes everything apart for me and clean it with Thieves. It's an organic product that you can get online. I love it. If you want more info on it go to www.moldrx4u.com
