Would anyone like to take our washing machine away, it still works well apart from the door locking device.?
Question:Hotpoint washing machine, 9 years old. It's been great but now the door locking device has stopped working. I am sure it can be fixed easily but we have decided to but a new one. We would like to give it away rather than take it to a dump - where else would we take it?

If no one wants it, look up appliance haul away service in the yellow pages, they'll take it away for you.

as fenella says, your local freecycle group will soon find a home for it. i use it a lot and its amazing what some people need. everything saved from landfill is a good thing.

Put a sign up at your local laundry mat. I am sure some one there would love to have it, instead of lugging it all there. Or, put an add in the paper, free washer. You could also set it on the curb, put a sign on it stating free. Describe the condition, but state it still works. Someone will definitely take it off your hands!
have you tried advertising it on your local yahoo freecycle group. just type freecycle into yahoos search engine, and join. its free to join. i'm sure someone will be grateful for your washer,
