That would mean you wanna season your pan. I love my cast iron skillet. To start the seasoning process, cover the lower oven rack with foil. Preheat the oven to 400°. Briskly scrub your pan with a plastic brush and warm soapy water to remove the wax and factory residue; pat it dry with a paper towel. Rub the entire pan with lard, inside and out, including the lid, if there is one. Other fats will work but lard works the best.
Place the skillet upside-down on the top rack; the excess oil will drip away and onto the foil-lined rack below. Bake for 1 hour. Be sure to have your oven fan on and, if you can, open a kitchen window. The pan will smoke, but the smoke should dissipate after 20-30 minutes. If possible, let the pan cool in the turned-off oven overnight. Otherwise, remove it from the oven, wipe away excess oil with a paper towel and let cool. Be very careful -- the pan will be extremely hot.
The seasoned pan will be light brown instead of gunmetal gray and is ready for use. However, repeating the seasoning process will give the pan a more efficient nonstick surface, and will also deepen the color. I found that seasoning the pan three times before using it produced a shiny black and highly nonstick pan.

If it is only on the inside of the pan, you can boil water with some grease in it and the wax will float as it cools.
