How do I get rid of the smell of oilbased paint?

Question:it has been two weeks since painting. I open the windows all day long, yet I cant get rid of the smell.

Answers:
Oil-based paints contain liquid plasticizers and resins that evaporate extremely slowly. Unfortunately, they often have unpleasant odors. This means you will have to bear with the smell a bit longer. However, ventilation, (which you are doing) is the best way to rid the room of the smell. You could also try ionizers. You can trust that the smell will eventually go away. Any attempt at masking the smell will do only that - mask the smell and will not stop the underlying cause.

There is a very good article regarding this here: http://www.paintcenter.org/rj/aug04m.cfm...

open all the windows and doors.

Turn on the fans or air condtioner on full blast or get a high powered fan and put it in the center of the rooms.
ferbreeze - that stuff works
