I have a badly stained aluminum rice cooker pot (messed it up in dish washer) what can I do to clean it up?

Question:It's badly tarnished.

There is a cleanser called Kleen King you can find in the grocery store that should take it off. I did the same thing to my rice cooker insert and found that cleanser, a lot of elbow grease and a sponge with the scrunge for non-stick cookware got that black off.

A better question would have been "why did my aluminum pot tarnish in the dishwasher?"
The answer to that is that aluminum dissolves in high PH chemicals like dishwasher soap, drain cleaner and oven cleaner.
Always wash aluminum in the sink with ordinary soap.
