I knocked a lit candle off my TV, and now wax is everywhere! What do I do?!?
Question:It got all over my blankets, shoes, floor, and my SUITS...I was packing and swung the closet door open, and it just knocked EVERYWHERE! What can I do to get wax out?! I leave tomorrow for business, and I HAVE to have my suits and ties!
Answers:
put ice cubes on it and freeze..scrap with a knife.
For any left overs.use a warm iron over a white rag.
iron the wax. it will heat up and pull off.
Get a blow dryer and melt the wax back down then use detergent to wash away any excess stuff.
put a towel down the heat the towel with an iron it will melt the wax and pull it into the towel
I always used newspaper and warm iron over it. Just put paper over wax and iron it. Before doing it it will obviously help to scrape big chanks of wax. Make sure that you change the paper as it sucks wax in!
For carpeting, you need to use newspaper and a warm iron (like others have suggested).
For hardwood floors, tables, or other hard surfaces, you need to use a hairdryer to melt the wax and then you can wipe it away. To clean the residue left after wiping it away, try vinegar.
Good luck on getting off all the wax!
I would take a towel and lay it on the wax. Then you can iron it so that the wax it soft enough to take off your carpet. If it's on a hard surface you can scrape it off with a finger nail.
