How do I erase chalk from chalkboard w/o a chalk eraser?
Question:Ive got a chalkboard that is written on with regular white chalk. Covered basically. I dont have an eraser (ive looked for them, cant find them) and I want to erase the chalk now. Any suggestions with just normal household items? Water and rag? Water and paper towel? I imagine its simple but I dont want to ruin the chalkboard so Im asking instead of trying myself. Anyone? Thanks!

A damp rag with water will do the trick!

and use it like a chalkboard eraser..ive done this and it works great
also every now an then use a damp cloth to clean the board it wont hurt it at all
An old Tee shirt will do just fine. Turn it inside out where any graphics wont scratch the board.
Also I have seen chalkboard erasers at Target and Walmart

If you can't get it all off, you could just repaint with chalkboard paint to freshen it up.
my boy used a damp cloth until i finally found an eraser. i think it was k-mart. i looked high and low and i only found dry erase erasers. i wonder if they would have worked? are they the same?
