Damp clothing...?
Question:My coloured washing has begun to smell before I even take it out of the machine. I take it out as soon as soon as the cycle finishes and I've tried rinsing it again with just conditioner but it doesn't help and my washing dries with a damp smell. I've been using Febreeze, but this is getting quite expensive with every wash. How do I get this damp smell out of the clothes?
Answers:
Wash each load with a half cup baking soda, and your regular soap. It works well. You can also run a cycle of hot water, bleach, and baking soda through your machine. Also when you are done with your wash for the day leave your machine open to air dry. Good Luck. :)
Does any other water in your house smell..? Or is it just the washing machine? I would run a cycle of vinegar on the hot cycle and that might clean out the washer. Or you can try and run some unsweetened Kool-Aid packets... The citric acid cleans the washer and it doesn't leave any color behind...Smells nice afterward.
use vinegar in all your washes. that kills bad Oder so it should do the trick for you too. good luck
You might have a problem with your water.
Try running a hot cycle with bleach: Sometimes that will help freshen the machine so the clothing doesn't smell moldy.
Also try adding vinegar or baking soda to your wash.
Good luck!
try changing your powder and softener or maybe you need a new washer
I just watched a tv program last night, and it talked about water getting "stuck" in your washing machine. If the other advice doesn't work, you may have to hire a plumber to check it out. It could be that your drain line isn't right, and water could be backing up.
