Carpet stains?

Question:We have very stubborn stains in our carpet. These stains range from dog urine, dirt, chocolate milk to spit up. We had cleaned up the mess when we noticed it but it still turned into a stain. As far as i can tell it doesnt smell. My ma has tried tons of cleaning products, nothing works. Ive read bout using vinegar and also dawn dish washing liquid. Do they really work? Or would it be more waste of $?

Answers:
Absolutely do not use Dawn on carpet! I am certified through a reputable chemical company on cleaning carpets. The first thing in taking out a stain is figuring out what the stain is, which it looks like you've done. Everything that you listed is organic. Use a multi enzyme digestant stain remover. Misco has one called Triple Action. It actually has living enzymes in it that will digest anything organic. make sure you saturate the area thoroughly. As long as it stays wet, the enzymes will stay alive and keep working. Now, Most people know that. What they don't know, is that if you want to keep stains from coming back(wicking to the surface from the pad) you have to rinse. This chemical is a little harder to find. Again, Misco makes a product call Rinse and Neutralizer. It will offset the PH balance and neutralize the residue so that it won't wick the stain back to the surface or draw other surface dirt to that area.

You could try using Oxyclean. There are directions on mixing it with water for carpet stains. Also, never rub the spill when you clean it up - only blot it. Otherwise, you will set the stain into the carpet fibers.

If that doesn't work, the best thing to do would be to rent a Rug Doctor, and buy the solution that goes with it.
Folex, hands down. My carpets are white and it has helped make them stay that way with dogs and teenage boys.
Buy a new carpet.
Who likes scrubbing floors anyway!
use shout on it,,,let sit and then take a brush with watter and scrub it away...works quite well the preswash stuff.
Have you tried "SpotShot"? That has gotten out every stain that I have ever had. I also have a friend who swears by "Nature's Miracle" for pet stains (availiable at Petsmart), it does double duty and takes the smell away too.
your best bet is to call in a pro. A STEAM cleaner. NOT a shampoo!! STEAM!! Call someone with a good reputation, maybe even a local. Tell them what the stains are, if you know, and what you have already done to them. You'll be surprised what they can do!
The Best thing that works for me on some of these stains was to vaccuum the area as best as possiable getting out most the dirt from the carpet pad and sit on the floor with a small bucket of hot water and a brush, treat each stain with SHOUT laundry stain remover. Then run a shampooer over the whole area. The stains never resurface. ~Good Luck to ya~
it would be a waste of money. after you have used other products to try to clean the stains the other products may now made the stains worse. some stains like dog urine/spit up actually remove the dye from the rug and cannot be fixed. just remember that the natural color of wall to wall carpet is light tan and any other color is a dye. saying all this it might be best to have a quality professional carpet cleaner over to clean the carpet as there access to spot removers and techniques are far superior to yours
I have seen about every stain that there is on a carpet, and Dawn dishwashing liquid will take out most of them (notice I don't say it will take out all of them) Make up a bucket of soap water now here is the trick, use only the foam off the soapsuds, and a scrub brush on the spots. If you have a shop vac to suck out the water it dries better. This will work on the carpet in your car too.
On small spots try some good old window cleaner. Just spray the spot and scrub it with an old rag. It does work, I didn't think it would either until someone showed it to me.
