Washer shaking?

Question:I have a new front louding washer which was installed (side by side) into a cabinet. During the spin cycle it shakes like crazy. I have had someone out to balance it and it still shakes like crazy. Someone said it might be my wood floor, others said the washer could be broken. I just want to know if anyone has had this issue and what they did. As I said, I have had someone out to try and balance it and no luck. Does anyone know why the washer does this in the first place. It's perfect except for the darn spin cycle when it shakes like there is an earthquake.

Answers:
Washing machines have little metal feet that screw down to extend to the floor. If your floor is uneven, you can screw one or more of these feet down farther until the washer sits solidly on the floor. You test this by leaning on the corners, or trying to lift them and rock the washing machine. If it is solidly in place (without any sign of a rock no matter what you do), then the problem is in the drum.

Being as the washing machine is new, I would complain long and hard to the manufacturer about getting a new one. You SHOULD NOT have this trouble this soon in the life of the washer!

Mine does that when I put too much clothing it, or even a blanket that is way too thick. Try lessening the load and see if that helps.
How many towels are you putting in there...if you are washing a small load with a towel or two they will cling to one side and throw the thing off causing it to shake. try it with a full load and see if it evens out.
you added to much clothes to it and it could break...or you need to balance it out
Call the store where you bought it and complain. If you've already had someone out to balance it may be defective.
You could have one or a couple of these problems. Your washer might be bad. Unlikely as they are built pretty good but still, sometimes there's a lemon in the bunch. Too much load in there. Lighten the load. A point on that though is that front loaders, well most of them, have load sensors and automatically correct when it is unbalanced, so I don't see that as a problem. However, the most common problem is the flooring you have it on. Since these things spin so fast, there will be a tendency to shake if its not on a very sturdy floor. If you go to a place and buy them, eg a Best Buy or Lowe's, they have them on concrete flooring so they don't shake when they show them to you. They, however, should've suggested you put them on the lower level of your house where the concrete is for more sturdiness. If you can, try moving it to there and try it. If you don't think that's the problem, and its within the warranty, call and schedule an appointment. You can contact me with questions if you want. Also, what brand is it?
Did you remove the stablizing pins in it? Mine did that the first time I used it and the hub remembered he didn't take the pins out that keeps the drum stable during shipping.

Does this happen all the time?

Mine still does shake the floor when it spins, remember it spins at an extremelly fast speed! But it doesn't feel like an earthquake or anything. A little noisy and some vibration, but thats about it.

I just remembered when I washed my blanket it made a horrible racket until it balanced itself out.

It does need to sit on a solid surface, mine is on a subfloor, but is fine. Have you tried spinning on a lower speed? Does it still happen? When you wash 1/2 load of clothes? Are you overfilling the washer?
Mine did the same thing. It was out of level, but only by a tiny bit.

Your wood floor shouldn't matter because when you level the washer you are compensating for the possibility of the floor being out of level.

Now, if you have structural problems with the floor itself and the floor is "giving" under the weight of the washer, you'll have to get that fixed as the washer will not remain level.

This is something that you should address soon. If the out of level condition is allowed to persist it could cause damage to the washer and the sub floor of the house.
Mine did that - I had the company come out and service it - they checked the balancing, the part your clothing goes into and spins was rubbing the outter casing - the guy fixed it. Now if it does it - it's usually because I have too many heavy items on one side - like 3 pair of jeans or something like towels, have to even out your laundry. Weight to one side will cause it for me!

Hope this helps...
most likey your washer is A) uneven or B) load distrubeted unevenly (since it's a front load washer you are probably overloading it, all the clothes fall to the bottom and when it goes to the spin cycle they are all on one side and the weight of the wet clothes is throwing your washer for a loop...almost literally.)
I would try several of the options listed already. If you think that the floor can be on a slant try getting some 2x4 and placing some balanced wood on top fo the 2x4 and then placing the machine. Prior to putting the machine on top of the make-shift raised floor level the area first. Then if this doesn't help, I would contact the store that you purchase it from, because it sounds like that the drum or the agitator inside the machine is not installed correctly.
You have an unbalanced load. Make sure the laundry is evenly distributed around the inside of the washer and don't overload it.
I have a Maytag front load washer. You should use the gentle spin cycle because the maximum will wear out your washer. And the best part is that it won't shake your house anymore.
