Shoe cleaning?

Question:I have a pair of white canvas wedges. The are dirty because of my feet. How can I clean them without ruining the rest of the canvas fabric?

Answers:
dirty inside or out? for inside dirt, go to the grocers and get a small utility brush (round, short brissels). lightly wet a small bar of plain white soap (try ivory snow or something like it). rub the brush on it so that its soapy but not soaking wet. clean the insides of the shoes with the soapy but almost dry brush. remove the soap with a clean mostly dry white wash cloth. this is labor intensive but works. dry throughly before wearing again...

for dirt on the outsides, remove loose dust/dirt with a plain dry utility brush. paint the canvas with NURSE WHITE shoe polish, available at grocery store shoe polish isle, shoe stores, shoe repair shops. when dry, spray with a water profing/stain repellant that you buy in the same store.

next time, spray the brand new shoes BEFORE they get dirty...
