Can anyone help me with removing gum from clothing?
Question:I left a half a pack of unchewed gum in a pants pocket and when my girlfriend threw it in the wash it was disastrous gum on everything including some irreplaceable consert shirts. I've never heard of gum sticking this way so I have no idea how to remedy it.
Answers:
spray with wd40 - pull the gum off then rewash the clothes.
hmmm only thing i can think of is freeze gum with ice cube then should be able to pick it off...works in hair you never know..
this sounds strange but it works.
put the garments in the freezer. The gum should come right off.
Then just wash in cold water.
You can try ice cubes, but I have found that lighter fluid works better. Good luck!
You can try wiping peanut butter on it, this kind of works, but works better is GooGone, you can get it anywhere, it works really well, and it won't harm your clothes
Try putting the shirts in the freeze - to harder the gum, then you should be able to pull it off.
Well maby you should try some peanutbutter because that sometimes works for me... it all depends on how large and how much gum is on the t-shirt... and next time try checking your pockets before you put them in the wash...lol
try butter
Help, is at hand. First thing to do is to freeze the gum off, best way is to pop into the freezer for a short while , then scrape off with a blunt knife. That´s the easy part. But 100% gum always leaves a stain , so to rid the stain this is what you do. It´s not a joke it works. Whip up 1 or 2 egg whites, lay over the remaining stains & leave for 10 min´s. Now pop the clothes back to the machine & wash on a normal wash. Sure the marks will all come off
Use ice. Just set ice on clothing for about 15 seconds, then peel the gum off.
fill a tub with iced water and dip the cloths in for 15 minutes.now take;m out pull gum and use a blunt used razor to clean left over gum
Drunkmunky,
Put peanut butter on it , the oils from the peanut butter will take it out , this is a very old remedy ,and works.
