Need to wash my wool rug?

Question:What can i use? Any ideas? Thx

Answers:
Depending on the size, if you machine wash it on a cool wash 30° be careful that the weight when wet dose not overload the washing machine.

Use a recommended Wool carpet / rug cleaner.

Other alternative is to hand wash in a bath-tub, rinse well with cold water, after hand scrubbing. (Roll up in the tub) Get help to carry outside in a large thick plastic bag, helps stop getting water all over the floor, and hand squeeze as much of the water out as possible, hang over a metal frame not a line as it might break it, and continue to squeeze out as much surplus water as possible, don't lust leave by itself as it may deform out of shape.

if you can put it in the washing machine wash at 40 degrees hang it on the line to air it thoroughly. their has been a cleaner for carpets on tv that doesnt soak carpets, i think woolworths sell it ,you might need two but at least the carpet wont get ruined by soaking. hope this helps pat.
If you are trying to clean a persian or asian rug, check with a professional rug cleaner. Any store that sells these types of rugs can help you with that. Some of the professional carpet cleaners can also clean these rugs on site. Stanley Steamer safely did two of my persians.
Depending on the depth of pile- a dry cleaner might be able to tackle it. Otherwise a specialist rug cleaner. Cheaper option might be to hire a carpet steamer.
