Removing garlic smell from room?

Question:I live in a college dorm room. Yesterday, I peeled and chopped garlic and onion for a recipe and ever since my room reeks of the smell. I had the windows open all day to air it out but it hasn;t worked at all. Please advise!

Answers:
Garlic oils in very small particles may have gotten on the countertop, cabinets, floor, walls, etc. Use plain white vinegar and wipe them down in the area affected. The vinegar smell will evaporate in a day. You could also set a bowl of vinegar on the counter and it will absorb odors too.

Air freshener that doesn't destroy ozone layer
There is a spray called Odoban and it will get rid of the smell. Just spray it on the surface where the garlic and onion was and anything else that has the odor and it will actually get rid of it. It won't just cover it up. Vinager actually works in the same way but then your room will smell of it.
what you can do is to buy an "incense" so that the substance that is burned will produce a sweet smell in your room. one of the old says that for example your refrigerator smells something bad, try to put some "charcoal" inside the ref to get rid of the unecessary smell, see for yourself. I hope it helps. goodluck.
