What is the best way to remove dark stains from carpet?

Question:I have hunter green carpet and I've accidentally stained it with dark red! I'm scared to bleach. Any ideas?

Answers:
Red is usually hard to get out. You can try resolve or call a carpet cleaning company in your area. They sell a product called red out that works great, I used it to get red candle wax out of my carpet.

Don't bleach! In an area that is inconspicous do a test of using the oxyclean cleaner to see that it won't bleach your hunter green. If it doesn't then try using that on the red spot. Following manufactureres instructions
there is this stuff that you can buy in the grocery store, it is down the same aisle as cleaning supplies and laundry detergents and stuff called RIT. there is one that is meant to remove dyes from fabrics. It may work, but read the label first
Definitely do not use bleach. Try spot shot (I use the one in a pressurized can). I've used it to get out red things many times. Test it in an inconspicuous area , such as a corner, first.
