How Do You Get Rid Of Maggots?

In the hot summer months, keep garbage out of the house as much as possible. Keep the garbage can covered while in the house. Take the garbage can out side and scrub out with bleach or a good disinfectant. Let it dry out in the sun. Spray around where ever maggots could have crawled with a good insect repellent. This is something that you have to keep on top of however or they will just return.
Are you sure they are maggots?
Maggots are fly larva that feed on dead decomposing tissue.
If they are really maggots simply remove whatever is dead & rotting in your garage!
If they are some other insect in larval stage the concept is the same... First remove the "food" source then you may use a garden insect spray (like Ortho) or a strong bleach/water mix.
Removing the food source is essential or they WILL return!
