What is the best way to...?
Question:clean a shower curtain. Every time I try to wash my shower curtain (it's made out of that plastic kind of material) I always end up with ugly water marks and soap scum that I can't get rid of. My shower curtain is clear with frogs all over it so you can really see all of the marks. Someone help. Thanks

Here a very GOOD way!
All you need to do is take down your curtain, whether it be vinyl or cloth, remove the rings and toss it into the washing machine with a cup of baking soda. Wash in a complete cycle with warm water or follow the instructions for wash on your cloth curtain.
It is probably not a good idea to put your vinyl curtain into the dryer unless you put it on very low and keep an eye on it. If your vinyl curtain is wrinkled, just hang it back in the shower and let the steam do the rest! Cloth curtains can be tumbled dry on low or can be hung up wet, it's going to get wet anyway!
Congratulations! You just saved yourself some money, kept a chunk of vinyl out of a landfill and helped your environment, all at the same time! Next time you buy a shower curtain, get a cloth one, they are easier to wash, come in all colors, look great and last a lot longer than vinyl!
dawn dish washing liquid
Toss it in the washing machine (take off rings), and hang immediately.
I've found that Tilex After Shower Cleaner works really well. You just spray down the whole shower after you are done, while everything is still wet, and walk away.
While it's hanging, wipe it down with a dishwashing detergent that doesn't leave waterspots (this should be noted on the package). Then, rinse clean.
throw it in the washer on the delicate cycle in cold water. make sure not to wash the rings that hold it...you can then toss it in the dryer for like 5 minutes - pull it out and hang and it will be brand new
Sounds like you like this shower curtain, so let's see if we can get it clean for you. First of all, you are not getting it clean in the wash, there is probably left over soapy water in the washer that is getting back on your curtain. So run a really hot load with sheets through, no soap and see if that will clean that out. Then try the shower curtain again, with hot water and with maybe a towel and facecloth, the little bit of scrubbing that the towel will do will help wash off the soap scum. Sounds like you may have to switch to a better detergent, but that's another story. Also, after every shower rinse the curtain well with water and leave it open to dry out, bunching it in the corners will only pool whatever shampoos you are using and may start growing a mold, air drying is always best.
My mother always used to say that vinegar will clean anything....and it works....my suggestion...lay the shower curtain down on the driveway..clean it with a rag and some vinegar.then spray it with a hose...afterwards you might want to use something that smells better just to get the smell gone
