Peroxide normally works well on blood stains. Pour some peroxide on the stain then follow up with a wet towel.
Woolite Pet Stain Removers Effectively Remove Tough Pet Stains and Odors
I cannot remember the name of this stuff but you get in the auto section of walmart and it is in a blue can. Good luck.
oxy clean and also maybe a deep carpet treatment
I've used this stuff called Folex for other pet stains and it works pretty well. It's in a white bottle with purple writing on it. You can find it at Walmart. It worked wonders on other stains. I've not used it on blood. If that doesn't work, you might want to steam clean it.
Hydrogen peroxide. Pour a few ounces of hydrogen peroxide on the stain, let it soak in for five minutes and blot with a white towel or washcloth. Repeat if necessary.
hydrogen peroxide and scrubbing if soap and cold water do not work. there is also a product for clothes that tkes out blood stains. id try that behing the couch or somewhere inconspicuous to see if it takes the color of the carpet out first.have you thought about fixing your pet. that would stop this from happening again.many humane societies offer this service for free or a very low fee.
But a product called"Natures Miracle" sold at pet stores and feed&grains. It's a liquid (no scent of it's own) colorless..never dilute with any other liquids.
Pour on the spot be sure you use enough to soak to the padding..leave it for 1 hour and then BLOT up the excess moisture..cover with a towel and let dry..the stain and odor will be gone.
I've used this product for 20 yrs. and it has never failed to do the job.
It works on any protien stain( blood, urine, vomit, spilled wine or juice,. If you aren't sure where the odor is coming from you can rent or by a black light and the stains will glow in the dark.
Stain: Blood
Natural Solution: Cold water; hydrogen peroxide; corn starch
Instructions: Soak in cold water. For stubborn stains, soak in hydrogen peroxide (a natural bleach; spot-test to make sure it won't affect the fabric). Or use a paste of equal parts corn starch and cold water.
This is off of the Martha Stewart website: Stain Solutions. it is talking about clothing but may work on carpet, the one thing they repeat is DON"T RUB.
Try Spot Shot Instant Carpet Stain Remover (I use the one in a pressurized can). It is fantastic. When I was a kid, one of our neighbor's kids had a complication with a surgery and ended up getting blood on the carpet. The spot shot got it right up. I've also used it to get red drinks out of beige carpet and beige furniture.
