How can I get butter stains off my favorite sweatshirt??
Question:I was making cookies , so I melted the butter and poured in in the bowl, and then I also got a few drips on my sweatshirt. :( My mom washed it, then dried it but it still didn't come out. So, is there any way I can get it out? PLEASE HELP!!
Answers:
if it was already dried, there is no getting it out. sorry-the stain set. next time your get a greasy stain (whether food or car grease)--take it to a dry cleaners. Dry cleaning solvent is great at grease. sorry about your sweatshirt.
did you try using one of those bleach pens? but if your sweatshirt says no bleach, do not bleach it. Try using Woolite.
Goop handcleaner. Works everytime - even after it has been washed and dried. I keep it in my laundry room.
I have had the same problem on shirts of mine. I've tried a few things and the only thing that seemed to work was " Spay 9" its a cleaner that is found in automotive stores, well that's where I've always found it. It will even take out set in blood that's been there for a while. Just spray it on, rub it in and wash. I hope it works for you... if for some reason it doesn't or you can't find it try a mild degreaser..
Putting it in the dryer tends to set stains. However, you might have luck with pouring liquid laundry detergent directly on the spots and letting it set for several minutes before washing as usual.
try using shampoo on the spot.
Spray it with DeSolve IT and rub in and then pretreat and wash as usual.
Make a paste of laundry soap & let it soak. Also, try the new bleach sticks.
