How can you restore a plastic or vinyl fabric that has turned sticky?

Question:ie: my kitchen chairs ( which were naugahide) have now got a
sticky film on them. washing with soap, vinegar, or amonnia
has not helped.

Answers:
The plastic is degrading. There's no cure. You're going to have to re-cover.
