Sheets on or off while away?
Question:My family and I are going to be gone on vacation for 1 1/2 weeks, and I was wondering if it is better to remake the beds with clean sheets before we leave, or to leave them unmade to 'air out'. I've heard both sides of issue, and wanted to get some input. Any help would be great!!

I suggest you should make the beds with clean sheets, so that once you come back from your vacation you can have a clean bed. ENJOY YOUR VACATION!!
I air out my bed once a week and I vacuum it whenever I change the sheets, it's up to you.
MAKE THEM FRESH AND COVER THE BED WITH A DUSTER AND WHEN YOU COME BACK TAKE THE DUSTER OFF THEN NITE NITE
Make the beds with clean sheets... nothing better than coming home to a clean bed after a hot shower !
I would NEVER leave home for that long with dirty sheets. You will be tired when you return and won't want to do laundry your first day.
You can always put on the clean sheets and leave the blankets and bedspread off.
Well, personally, I think that you should take them off during your vacation. This is because if you recently haven't changed your bedding, had an ill family member, or especially, have pets, you should put your sheets in the washer when you get home. Put everyone's sheets in one pile, separate them, and then, when you come home from vacation, you can throw them in the washer and dryer machines. Have fun on your vacation!
I always try to clean the house before I leave for vacation. I'm usually too tired to clean or change sheets when I return. I also have pets so sheets are a must since they are covered with hair even when I'm away. I sometimes keep an extra "pet-sheet" on top that I can just throw in the wash as soon as I get home with clean sheets underneath.
Airing them out doesn't make that much of a difference this time if you don't often air the bed out. The real question is if housework is at the top of your "things I want to do as soon as I come back from vacation" list.
I imagine it is just your personal preference but I like to put fresh sheets on the bed before I leave because the last thing I want to do is come home after travelling to an unmade bed. When you get home your bed is fresh & ready for you to rest!
