What happens if you put regular detergent in a front loading washing machine?
Question:I just bought a new front loading washing machine and some high efficiency laundry detergent. I still have a lot of regular detergent left over, though. Can I use the regular detergent in my new machine?
Answers:
Don't do this. I sell front load washers. Its a bad idea. 2 things. 1 you pay about $2000 for the pair and your loads will come out and feel soapy. Also you will "gum up" the washer and thats not good for it. Alot of people say just use less of the other detergent. Dont do this. "HE" detergent cost the same as the other, You should find it at Target
Loads and loads and loads of suds. Washing powder thats made for automatics does not sud up so much. If you use the ordinary stuff you will find that it will not be rinsed properly
I use it all the time, just use about half as much, maybe less. I generally just buy the regular detergent and just use less. No problems, and it's a lot cheaper.
I too also just purchased a new front load machine. I also used to sell them. You need to reduce the amount of detergent you use. This would be the same for bleach and fabric softener. Follow the guidelines in the users manual and look for the lines in the dispensing tray. There are marks for a maximum capacity.
yes you can use the other detergent. if it is tide only use a small amount. high efficiency washers are sensitive to tide because it suds up more than other detergents.
Yes, you can. Just make sure to use less. Nothing unusual should happen.
You get several things. First a bubble bath and then you get to mop the floor. Using regular detergent is not a good idea...
