How can I clean a silk tie?
Question:Almost every day the kids spill something on my tie. I don't want to pay for drycleaning to get some ketchup out. Is there some trick?
Answers:
You can do it at home with Dryel, an at home dry cleaning kit available in the laundry aisle in most discounters. The kit has a pre-spotter for stains and it works in the dryer. The only problem is that you will either have to iron or steam press your tie after treating it with the at home dry cleaner kit. Most oil based stains from food can also be treated with salt, baby powder or cornstarch sprinkled on the stain to absorb the grease without having to clean the whole tie. Also, dry carpet cleaning granules work, too, especially if it is a mystery stain of no known origin.
Just hand wash it with woolite
you could just take your whole suit to the dry cleaners.
