Put some activated charcoal in a baggie inside of it and then put the bag in a box with a lid and a plastic container of activated charcoal in the box. Leave it for a few days, when you open the box, if you get a whiff of that smell, leave it a few more days until the odor is gone. I've found that the activated charcoal works better than baking soda for leather, eleskin, and certain heavy fabrics.

Baking Soda gets the smell out of stuff like that. It works on shoes too. Fold up the Baking Soda in a piece of cloth and set it in there for a few days or so. If that doesn't work sprinkle it in the bag itself and shake it out later.
