How do I get watercolor stains out of my wood kitchen island?

Question:OK, three year olds are cute, but not when they ruin furniture...
My daughter has gotten markers, watercolors and pen marks on my Crate and Barrel wood kitchen island!

Answers:
Mr.Clean eraser, then scour it with bleach water, then use a fine sand paper to sand any spots out, then rub down with mineral oil to "seal" and protect from future stains. Good Luck!

sand it
I've had this happen to me...but with frozen blueberries too! I used bleach and it worked like a charm.
I think you might have to sand and restain or reseal it. The sealer must not have been very good if it didn't repel crayons. You did try Mr Clean eraser didn't you?

3 year olds are quite charming especially when they are explaining "WHY".
