How do you take off oil from a shirt?

Question:I was cooking fish on a pan and it was hot and oil went on my shirt when i was flipping it and i put it in the wash and there is now oil on my shirt... I washed it again and oil is still there. Does anyone know how to take off oil on a shirt?

Answers:
I've used Dish washing liquid, (Dawn in particular) straight on the stain and let it sit for a day or so then ran it through the wash as usual. It usually works but if the shirt had gone throught the dryer you may be stuck. You can always take it to the dry cleaners and ask them to treat the stain or recommend something we haven't thought of.

I cook dinner in my work clothes all the time. I get home late and don't want to be bothered to change sometime.

Providing that you have NOT put the shirt through a clothes dryer, you can still soak the shirt in LESTOIL and then rewash it will come out!
dawn dishwashing liquid takes it out too
Dawn dish washing liquid. When I am cooking and get a stain I immediately take a dab of dawn and put it on the spot and leave it. When I do my regular wash I don't need to do any pretreatment it usually comes out
Dawn's the best. Or baking soda... make a paste of it. and rub it in... and wash as usual...
before washing it,cover the stained area with talc baby powder, iron it but not directly, use a piece of very thin cotton fabric to cover the spoted area before ironing,it will vanish
