Question:I hosed it down outside and as soon as it dried it had the same dingy, dusty look to it. I've heard of commercial products that supposedly remedy this, but I've also heard the opposite about them and that they leave a "waxy" look to the plant after application. Anyone have any ideas how to make my plant look healthy and real again?
Answers:
I generally fill up a bathtub with dish soap and swish the plant in it (upside down) If it's been in a place that's had hairspray, I let it soak in the water, then put it in the shower to rinse it off. Looks great when it's dry, but does make a lot of water on the floor!
there is a product I bought in the past at Walmart but the name eludes me.It's specially made for silk flowers and will make them look realistic again and no waxy feeling. It's located where the artificial flowers are.
When I wash my plants,, the artificial kind of course.. after they dry .. I spray them with hairspray.. they seem to spring back to life.. I do this every time I clean them and they last a long time before getting dirty again..
Hope this helps
rebel's answer is kind of cool and i think i'll try it. you can fill a sprayer with alcohol and spray clean but just mark it alcohol so you don't mistake it for water
There is a spray at walmart that is used for silk plants or just simply wipe it out with a wash cloth
There is actually a silk plant cleaner. You can find it anywhere the plants are sold. It works.
