My window air conditioner has a mildew problem! Please help!?
Question:I had it cleaned by a professional, but I don't think he used anything but a hose (maybe a pressure washer). Problem went away for awhile, but it's back and I'm very allergic to mold and mildew. I can't take the heat but my sinuses are killing me! Any ideas, preferably tried and true, would be great.

If the front cover of the air-conditioner is removable, take it off and spray with a high quality bleach to kill the mold and spores, do the same with the filter rinse in wool wash as it has eucalyptus oil in it. wie as much of the air conditioner out with warm water & bleach as you can cover your face while you are doing this. put some bleach into a spray bottle and spray it through the unit it should work for about 6 wks then do it again
go to home depot or lowe's and get a chemical called mold-ex it works great.
