What is the best way to get smoke smell out of my drapes (besides actually washing them)?
Question:We just moved into a new place and the drapes smell of cigarette smoke. I do not want to take them all down, is there an alternative to getting out the smoke smell?
Answers:
No. They need to be washed. They should have been clean when you moved in so get your real estate to have them cleaned for you.
Febreeze works wonders! The cheap brand from the dollar store works just as well.
febreeze
try using frebreeze spray on them
Not in my experience, there are things that will mask the smell for a while but washing is the only permanent solution
Try Febreeze, it does a great job. It also depends on how smoky they may be though. You could always take them to the drycleanerinstead of washing them as ell. That way they will come back pressed nicely.
You can try Fabreze and open windows in the room to encourage ventilation.
You can spray them with heavy duty Febreeze fabric deodorizer, but smoke is almost impossible to kill. Throw them out, and get new ones.
You can try Febreeze, but honey, nothing will ever get the smell of smoke out till they have been washed a couple of times. Smoke permiates the fabric and locks itself in. You will probably need to bleach or fantastick the walls too if they were heavy smokers and last but never least is the carpet. It will need to be steam cleaned. Sorry, thems the brakes.
Febreeze or Flat-D a universal deodorizer
