How would i go about cleaning my nylon duty gear?

Question:What would be the best way to clean off my nylon duty belt without damaging it?

Answers:
Use some apple scented Dawn (or a similar dish washing detergent). And the apple scent is just to freshen the belt up a little bit . Use a toothbrush also, either stiff or medium bristled (soft won't work). That way it is small enough to work around the snaps etc.
