What is the cost of having a housekeeper? What services are provided?
Question:How often do they visit? Thanks!
Answers:
It would depend on where you are located and what you are looking for.
I have a nanny whom we pay $10 per hour to watch our child. She prepares our child's meals, bathes her, keeps the child's room, living room and kitchen picked up and does the child's laundry.
I also have someone who comes and cleans my home every other week. She does not pick up, just does the cleaning -- sweeping, mopping, bathrooms, dusting, etc. That costs $15 per hour and she is generally here for four hours.
Put a sign up in the bodega and you can get one for $10.00 a day. That's what Mexicans are for, according to McCain.
The last that I heard was $400 a month for twice a week. They clean and cook when they are over, and also sometimes watch the kids, although I think that costs extra. Each time they come they stay for at least a few hours.
Visits can be once weekly up to five days a week, depending on your budget.
What they do is specified after they visit and, basically, you both interview each other to see how things may work out.
You see what they will charge to do what you want them to do and see if there is any oif it they do NOT do.
They will come up with a price based on the required tasks and the frequency of visits.
You should really shop around as there are numerous sources for a good maid.
I had a home and office cleaning business for 17years. Shop around for prices and ask what you can expect from them. Some won't clean ovens or in fridge. Most of them charge by the size of the home and depending on how often you want them to come. My advise is you pick up what you can so they spend there time on cleaning and not picking up you will get more for your money. Make sure they are licensed and insured also.
I pay 1 dollar a day , each for two live in maids. They are also provided basic meals and share a sleeping room with each other. They wash my clothes, clean the house, take care of the lawn, shop for me, wash my Jeep when needed and of course cook. When I have guests they serve and do anything else that needs done.
I live in the Philippines. This is a good deal for a Filipina, as there are more than 20,000,000 that eat less than one meal a day. Why do I not pay more ? Because this is the acceptable rate for this work in this area.
they visit as often as you like and charge by the hour you could tell her i want 2 hours and she will clean well for that time or you could ask for an estimate for what you want done generally depending on where you live and who you hire it costs from 10-20 per hour
