How can i starch my jeans to make them real hard and stiff?
Question:i tried diffrent kind of starch, methods, and they aren't just cutting it, little help please! i want them real stiff.
Answers:
An absolutely foolproof way to get jeans hard and stiff doesn't even require starch. Wash them (without softener) and if you live somewhere that has a clothesline, dry them outside in the sun.
use more starch, and don't rinse it out.
On a box of powdered starch there is a guide for extra heavy starch (most have it).
Mix and dip the cleaned jeans in the solution. Wring well.
Dry in dryer or hang dry if you don't want them to shrink.
After they are dry, sprinkle them well with water to slightly dampen them. Roll them up tightly and let them sit for about 1/2 hour. Then press well and hang to completely dry overnight.
I used to do my husbands shirts that way and they could stand up by themselves when they were finished.
Your other option is to take them to a good laundry and ask for them to be extra heavy starch laundered. They should comply without a problem and it will save you time if you are willing to pay for someone else to do it.
Liquid starch. It is available in the laundry detergent isle at the grocery store . The brand I buy is Stayflo (I think). It comes in a blue plastic bottle. The directions are on the bottle. Great stuff.
