How can I get a permanent marker off my wood table?
Question:I don't want to sand and re-stain it. It was a Sharpie marker that did the damage.

try finger polish remover
Try rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab.
Once the alcohol is off, make sure to dry off the table so that there aren't any marks on the surface.

I have heard that Pledge, the furniture polish, helped remove marker and other stains on wood furniture.
Believe me I've seen this done,, cigarette ashes with a little bit of spit ( I'm sure water will do as well) and then rub with your finger in a circular motion till it goes away. it's true. good luck.
