What is the best way to get blood stains out of my carpet.?
Question:blood is one day old
Answers:
Vinegar removes blood very well. Peroxide does too, but it may bleach the fibers if your carpet is dark. Test these in an inconspicuous area before using them. Make a paste with white vinegar and laundry detergent and scrub with an old toothbrush.
Hydrogen Peroxide will get it out. It won't bleach your carpet eighter. It works on all blood stains and even old ones.
scissors!!
Clorox 2 , it works on organic stains . I use it to spot clean diningroom chair padded seats.
This may sound stupid, but if its just a small amount and its possible to do so, have the person whose blood it is, spit onto to stain.
There's an enzyme in the our saliva, that means the enzyme reacts with the same persons blood, and makes it easy to remove.
Just enough to completely touch all of the stain with the saliva, then you should be able to clean with a nail brush and COLD water. Do NOT use hot water, it will set the stain...
If this isn't possible, try using water and a nail brush, and keep blotting it to absorb between trys.
I'd do that first before resorting to other cleaners.
You could even dampen the stain first and let it "sit" for a while, to soften the blood....
OLD BLOOD STAINS NAWER GATE GOOD RESALTS
NEW BLOOD MAY HAWE STAINS GATE GOOD RESALTS WITH COOL WATER OR ICE BARS
You could try mixing 1part water and 1part Hydrogen Peroxide. First check for color fastness in an out of the way area that will not be noticed if carpet fades, Spray on stain and let set for a few min.s then blot up with clean cloth. Note, spray but do not soak . The Hydrogen Peroxide will also help to kill germs that cause odors.
