Do they still make Lifebuoy Carbolic Soap?

Question:This is I hope the right place to ask. I know my parents would use it to helpwith cleaning cloths just after the last war.
The soap I refer to is the strong smelling red bars, not the later cosmetic type bars.
My memory is that you always felt fresh and smelt clean without all the "puffy" sprays etc everyone uses today!!

Answers:

it came in a long block and you had to chop it up lol my dad always had it not sure they still make it though
Not sure but know the one you are talking about must take a look in the shops later and get back to you.
I know that coal tar soap is still available from chemists much the same sort of stuff
Yes they do.Ive seen it in places like Wilkinsons.
I have looked for it all over Ireland and cant get it anywhere. I've been told it's not made any more which is a pity as it was great stuff. If you washed in it, it acted as an insect repellent. Try some old village shops - they might have some old stock but I've had no luck so far :(
