40C iget the same trouble on 30C
40c.
40C for ordinary clothes (all but children's dinner stains seem to come out) and 90C for bedding and towels.
I do woollens on 30, all other clothes on 40, and towels, tea towels, dishcloths and bedding on 60.

I use Sainsbury's (or other shop brand) non biological tablets
40. perhaps you are putting in too big a load? i use vanish oxy action if i have very dirty washing and the spray, used before you wash is great for grease stains
Roxy, it may work on your childrens food stains too, or try the sterilising tablets you get for the babys bottles, just soak overnight
same i try and do ma bit for the enviroment doin ma washin at 30 but it doest seem to work and i use the powders that claim to get 99 per cent of stains out never mind lol
With two kids in the house ive realised that 30 and 40 washes are no good for most stains no matter which brand of washing powder i use.If something has a stain on it i generally add a liitle oxi stuff to the washh and put on a 60wash,otherwise the stain is still there after washing. If you are wanting to stay on a 30 wash try rubbing a little washing up liquid on the stain before you put it in the wash, that can help loosen it.Also clothes washed under 60 still carry bacteria, which can make your washing still smell.Clothes wshed at 60 kill off germs.
Your best bet for heavy soiled clothes is to wash on a 60 wash if the material isnt too delicate.
Try adding a vanish tablet in with your washing. I find this works if I have bad stains.
You can only use the 30 wash for dark and lightly soiled clothes. I recently bought a Zanussi washing machine that has an eco function which works really well - basicallly it will do a 40 wash at 30 and a 60 wash at 50 but the washing cycle is much longer. Wonder if it really saves much energy that way !
ldn chic, i use bold powder i honestly dont believe you can get anything clean at 30 degrees i wash every thing at 60 degrees and towels that im fussy about for hygene purpouses do come out clean theyd say any thing to sell their product, its a load of bull how can any one get towels clean on a cold wash., i think all soap powders are basicly the same with different names.
