How can I get the stickyness of duct tape off my scisors?
Question:The sticky part of duct tape is stuck to my scissors, like residue. How can I get it off. They're too sharp for me to do it by hand. (see thumb scar)
Answers:
Try using rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover.
I have used rubbing alchohol before. Peanut butter also worked. Just wash them when you are done.
Put some metholayted spirits on a thick cloth and rub it off.
baby oil
The best stuff is called "Goo-B-Gone"...you can get it at any hardware store.
There's a product called Goo Gone that apparently takes away all sticky residues.
Sandpaper works sometimes also.
A product called GooGone is great for this and smells like lemons. You can just wipe it off with a paper towel, no scrubbing. You can find it at Wal-mart and Target.
clean with rubbing alcohol
Eucalyptus oil
A dab of baby oil, olive oil or vegetable oil will unsticky them. Use a VERY thick wad of paper towels to wipe clean (you may have to repeat the process). Good luck and be careful!
soak them in hot soapy water for hours
First try nail polish remover, because you probably have some at home then try Goof Off, or Goo Gone found at Lowes or Home Depot
There is a product called Goo Gone. You could pour it on some wadded-up paper towel so you don't cut yourself.
cover the sticky part with creamy peanut butter or mayonnaise and let sit for about 30 minutes or 1 hour. Use paper towel to wipe off. To sharpen them, cut into and swipe them several times over a wine cork.
WD-40
Personally, I would try some Nail Polish Remover, and some hot water.
Good luck and Cheers!
