Is using a dial soap twice a day on your face to clean it good or bad?
Question:I get a few pimples every once in a while. I think I make them worse by trying to pop them. Is that true or not? And I use a dial yellow type of soap, it says its anti bacterial. Is that good to use on your face daily?
Answers:
Someone told me that using antibacterial soap on your face is as good as Proactive. Proactive is a pricey face wash they advertise on TV all the time. Good Luck.
could be good for you, everyones skin is different.
Dial soap is harsh to use on your face! Try getting a cleanser made especially for problem skin.
A dermatologist once told me to only use Dial or Ivory soap on my face.
No. it's not at all good for your face. Switch to something like Proactive ot Acne Free.
Try warm water alone with a clean washer.
Dial soap goes way back, and I have had to use it with my children when they were toddlers because it was the "only" antibacterial cleanser back in those days. And it is still around today and is all that I grew up with and all I had to use on my face as I am sure many others from back in my days only had too. There was Ivory and Dial, that was it. I would say yes to the safety of it and especially if a doctor recommends it.
I take really good care of my skin and in my opinion, no dial soap isn't good. You should use a facial cleanser like Clean and Clear-something like that. Popping you pimples isn't good because when you pop it you get all the germs from your finger inside the pore which clogs it again.
well its not gonna hurt it any for sure
Dial soap can be a little harsh, especially if you are not using a moisturizer, but the anti-bacterial properties are good. If you strip your skin of too many of it's natural oils with out moisturizing, your face will compensate by overproducing oil. Then you begin a vicious cycle. You wash, your skin gets oilier, so you wash even more stringently... etc. Bottom line, if using dial soap to cleanse, make sure to use a moisturizer. I'd recommend oil-free if you have oily skin &/or are prone to break outs.
As far as popping your pimples. not a good idea. They can get worse because of the germs you allow in by breaking the skin. Also, you can cause yourself permanent scarring by forcing a pimple to "pop". A liscenced aestheticain can take care of them for you during a facial in a salon, spa or dermatoligist's office by doing extractions. (That's a fancy name for sanitary pimple popping done by a trained professional.)
Your best bet at home it just to dry them out. At night, apply a little bit of clay mask just on the pimple and wash it off in the morning. (Believe it or not, toothpaste is also pretty effective in a pinch.) Then during the day apply a benziol peroxide cream or salacylic acid gel. (Clean and Clear or Clearasil make both.)
better than not cleaning at all. so i would say good. i would try some thing less abrasive and less dry. i don't really no your age or your concern about aging but it is a big concern of mine and one day will be yours too. so go easy on your skin now so you wont regret what you did in the future. i would definitely get the pimples out. never keep them in. that is a wise tail that if you pick them it will make wholes. i don't no why they say that you have to get them out. or you will have wholes. get a oil based soap to control acne so you avoid future pimples and something with nutrients that wont age you either. Kay. be gentle with your face i tanned and i went some nights not washing off make up because i was out partying too long. i regret all of that now. it is taking its toll on my 33 year old face that looks exactly its age. at one time i used to look 5 years younger. believe me when i say this it might not sound bad to you now but its big you never want to look your age, trust me, you always want to keep them guessing. take my advice and do what i suggested and you will never have to worry about any of these things i am saying to you.if you need to no more email me. please feel free i will not mind at all.. Kay. bye. Angela.
Interesting you ask this question. I have found that Dial is the only soap that will keep my pimples from being a bigger problem that it is. I have tried many soaps and always come back to dial, I have been using it for many years. The anti bacterial helps the acne , and does get the excess oils from my skin.
If mild occasional pimples is your concern, the daily use of dial, is one of the best methods of controling it.
