Have you tried "Shout Advanced?" What can remove a set in grease stain?
Question:It says on the commercial that "Shout Advanced" removes set in grease stains. My husbands button ups came out of the dryer looking like thay have grease stains, like maybe there was a lip balm left in a pocket... though I never found the container if that's the case! Anyway, I'd like to get the stains out. Help!
Answers:
I use Dawn dishwashing liquid. It works really well on grease stains. After treating the spots, I toss the clothes into the washer with Biz instead of regular laundry soap. This combo seems to work very well on most grease stains.
By the way, DON'T use the BLUE Dawn, or it will stain some clothing. I used it on a white cotton web belt and it ruined the belt. Get the colorless Dawn.
The best way to remove the grease stain is to let it set over night in apple vinegar
You may have to use a little elbow grease for that. Even liquid laundry detergent poured over the stain and scrub with a toothbrush. Your normal laundry detergent full strength is every bit as good as Shout.that's all it is anyway. We as consumers are fooled into buying extra things too many times. Just keep treating the stain until you are satisfied that it is about as best as it is going to get out.
Did you also know that fabric softeners also leave set in stains too?
Try DeSolve It. You can buy it at Ace Hardware and sometime Wal-Mart.
This is my answer to almost all laundry problems. I keep Tide liquid..not with bleach.. in a little squeeze bottle. Whenever I have a stain I dab some on it and let it set for a few hours to a day or two. When it is washed it usually comes out. This works great for grease splatters from frying in the kitchen. I put little dabs where ever there is a little spot. Works wonders. Or try a degreaser.
I'd try oxi clean.
