Ink on carpet?
Question:How do you get blue gel ink out of a carpet? My dog got a hold of my pen in the night and now I have a "lovely" blue stain in the middle of my living room.
Answers:
Ink stains are so tricky - especially on carpet, where it can tend to spread when you are treating it. Try this ... I have had success with it in the past...
Saturate the ink stain with hair spray. Allow the stain to fully dry. Mix a solution of one part water to one part white vinegar. Pour the solution on the stain. Brush the area lightly with a medium-bristle brush, preferably a toothbrush. Continue brushing until the stain is gone. Blot the area with a dry, white cloth. Flood the area with water. Blot again.
Allow to dry.
Good luck!
Get a can of Resolve carpet cleaning solution. I spilled black shoe polish on a white carpet and I was able to get most of it up using that.
get a stain remover for your carpet and then vacuum it, the stain Will disappear
try using a regular hair shampoo first. if it does not work, try spraying solvent on the stain (make sure you do this in an area outside your home or in an open air place, its flammable and harmful to the lungs so be cautious).
if you dont want to use solvent, you may want to search on laundry shops for ink stain removers they can sell, which i doubt they'll give, but there's no harm in trying.
good luck.
An old printer's trick for you - use hairspray. Spray it pretty good, and dab it.
I buy a product online that would probably work great for that. It's nontoxic, safe for everyone, even your pup. Click my avatar and I can share with you where I buy my products.
Please beware of putting to much chemicals on it, you may never get it out. I had that experience, people told me all sorts of idea's, tried a few and none really worked. Wish I would have known about the products I use now back then.
Good luck!
