Can i put cotton balls in my air vents?

Question:Is it o.k if i put scented cotton balls in my air vents in my house to circulate the scent throughout the house?i just want to make sure it's not going to hurt anything.

Answers:
Its fine as long as it is not the cold air return vents. You might try something bigger such as a gauze pad( bandage)& tape(duct tape) it to the inside of the vents, then get an eyedropper for easier rescenting the pads in a few weeks.

Never heard of that. Make sure they don't end up clogging the furnace filter
It is ok if you only use a couple per vent. I assume you don't want to pack it full.
Why not just get those goofy glade things you plug into a socket? They're made to do exactly what you want and they won't mess with your vents.
try using dryer sheets, they are easier to keep in place and last longer.
As long as you put it inside the vents and not the returns you should be fine. It's easy to tell one from the other. Turn on the air, any vent should have air blowing OUT from it and a return will have air being pulled INTO it.
try getting your duct work cleaned and santized if you have a ac unit in your home. then place one those california scent containers in the bottom of your furnace, where the blower is, and when air is recycled, the sweet smell of whatever you like will magically appear into the air
they sell some air vent freshners at home depot. I bought one for my house. what you do when you change the filter you place it on the filter and it leaves your house smelling fresh. goood luck
