How do I remove spilled candle wax from a carpet?

Question:I have spilled hot wax on my living room carpet and can't get it out HELP !

Answers:
Put a paper towel over the wax and then heat up a hand iron to melt the wax through the paper towel. As the wax melts the paper towel will absorb the melting wax. If that doesn't work, put the coffee table over it.

Cover it with some absorbent paper , then use a warm iron on it !!
scrape off as much as you can and then place a towel over it and run a warm iron over the towel. Wipe off the excess.
Another thing you can try if the previous solutions don't work (although they probably will) is to get some ice in a plastic bag, set it on it until the wax gets really hard and frozen, then chip it off.
I go for the freezing it with an ice cube covered up in a polythene bag (so our carpet doesn't get wet) it makes the wax go hard and brittle so it is much easier to pick out.
Set a brown paper bag over the spot then go over it with an iron.
A combination of all the below is best, scrap of any wax you can, get some brown paper to put on top and run a warm iron over the top. The only thing I would do different is put an old towel on top to protect the carpet from overheating and maybe getting more damaged by this than the wax!

There are several ways to do this,, Ice it and scrap all you can. Then use a brown paper bag and an iron on low setting to soak up the rest.

There are also commerical removers for candle wax, check with Yankee Candles.
ice or chewinggum remover
Take a paper towel or a dry wash cloth or some kind of absorbant cloth that can take the heat. Scrape off as much of the wax as you can. Then Heat up the iron or I like to use a hair dryer. Blow on or heat up the wax if using an iron put the cloth down first so you don't burn your carpet do this slowly keep moving the cloth so you get up all the wax. For the hair dryer heat up the wax and then use a paper towel to pick up the melted wax keep doing this till the wax is gone.
Put down a brown paper bag over the spill and use an iron on med heat to melt the wax. Be careful not to get the iron to hot. the wax will absorb into the bag.
First of all freeze it with an ice cube and then chip off as much as you can. The remainder can then be removed by covering it with a cotton cloth, or something equally absorbent like blotting paper or a kitchen towel, and repeatedly ironing it with a medium/hot iron. Be careful - some carpets melt!
Put a newspaper sheet or supermarket mushroom bag on carpet and iron on top of it
cover the wax with brown paper and then iron it till the wax melts.works every time...
