Believe it or not,I use toothpaste on an old toothbrush and then wipe of with a damp cloth.Same works on the seals round your fridge door.
You can try making a paste out of baking soda and water, and scrubbing the stain with that and a stiff bristled brush...use an old tooth brush if everything else is too big.
If that doesn't work then making a paste of baking soda and liquid bleach definitely will! But be careful not to get any of this onto your skin or your clothes. And once you have scrubbed and removed all the stain, rinse it very thoroughly with lots of water.
It sounds very much like mold. Bleach will kill mold. But you might have to rescrub every month or so, until you have managed to kill all of the underlying spores.
use a light bleach solution
this will prevent odours as well as remove the black staining
Mix up a solution of hot water & an ammonia cleaner, such as Top Job or Mr. Clean & wipe the rubber rim with that. Do this once a week & that will eliminate the gunk & odor buildup. You can also spray the area with Lysol after you clean it. You don't want to use bleach as it will weaken the rubber & rot it. Then you're sunk!!
Pick up some tire cleaner from an Auto Parts store.
Use meths (methylated spirits) blue liquid
Same thing happened to my machine, tried everything but in the end called the washing machine repair man and give him the serial number of the machine. He came out and replaced the rubber. Cost 40 pounds in total but it was ruining my clothes. He suggested that i stop using liquid detergent and go back to powder which I have done. He also stated the cause may be due to the type of water in the area.
i don't think you'll get rid of it now get a new door boot and in future when you've finished washing wipe the rubber then leave the door open. bleach will only rot the rubber
