Yes you can. My Berber carpet comes out beautiful after cleaning.They clean better than any type of carpet I've had.
yes, you can the only problem being that if it is a loop berber then you will need to clean it from every possible angle. also the pad underneath the rug will be like a sponge so if the carpet on top shows a stain gone and you walk on that area before the carpet and pad are thoroughly dry the carpet will suck the stain from the pad and bring it up to your carpet again. so make sure you get all the water out of the carpet and let it dry before you have people on it. also if carpet backing stay wet to long it will actually seperate it self from the carpet fbers which will cause wrinkles and you will have to replace the carpet.
It is not recommended to use a machine with a revolving brush on Berber carpet. Use a machine that has a wand (without a brush) that sprays solution and sucks it back up. RinseNVac if you can locate one. This is the same system that Stanley Steamer uses.
Lowe's has a product called Capture, it's a dry carpet cleaner that works great on berber. You have to use a pre mist, to release the dirt then there's a powder that you scrub into the carpet, you let that sit for some time then vaccume it up. It works great!! Hope this helps.
