Rub your zip with a pencil. This will lubricate the zip with graphite making it much easier to zip up or zip down. Mr Zippy mmmmmm

Rub it very gently with some candle wax. Enough to leave the smallest wax deposit. Should then go on for ever.
A little bit of spray polish should do the trick.
The slightest smear of spray furniture polish will work wonders. Best applied with your finger to avoid getting it on the jacket
Take a bar of soap and rub the soap on straight line of the zipper. This should help.
Rub it with either Wax, or Soap. They both work well.
