How to get burnt marks off pots/pans?

Question:Any idea how to get black burn marks off the bottom of my brand new pot? Thanks :)

Answers:
Use SOS or Brillo pads. You may also want to try using a soft scrub cleanser, if you don't want to use the scouring pads.

With a Tablespoonful of Baking Powder. Pour warm water into the pot, just enough to cover the burn mark´s , add the powder& leave for 5-10 min´s. Then wash with your own washing up liquid. If they are badly stained add more powder, Always use as little water as possible & always warm water not hot
get the finest grade steel wool at a hardware store and rub gently
Steel wool.

But really who cares if the bottom is black anyway?

Shine up the inside, clean ouotside as usual and go out and play. It's too nice out to spend the day scrubbing the bottoms of pots and pans. No one sees them and they do not touch food.

Just soak them in that and hot water and the black crud will wipe right off!
oooops, if they are really bad, throw them out and purchase quality pots. It happened to me once and I tried everything-now I never buy cheap pots.
sure i saw kim and agie use biological washing powder! or a bicarbonate of soda and lemon juice solution but sure it was the washing powder
baking soda leave to soak and it shold come out, also if you can get a stick of rhubarb and boil it in the pan its supposed to get rid of burnt on stuff
To clean a scorched pan, fill with warm water and add several tablespoons of baking soda. Boil until the scorched parts loosen and float to the surface. If the black burns are on the outside bottom use oven cleaner.
