My gas dryer isnt working correctly?
Question:hello i have a whirlpool gas dryer and lately its been actin up the clothes have not been dryin the dryer gets warm but i looked at the bottom and the flame only lights for about 10secs then it will go back off then come back on hen its wants to also when i set the dryer for 30mins or whatever the buzzer goes off in five mins kinda weird whats wrong with this thing

call your gas company.. you may need a gas fitter to come out
that happend to ours we had bought a hole new one and relized that all we had to do was replace the cord it was old but if you have to get a new on then go to lowes on the weekend thay put big sales ours is a kenmore or wirlpool and we got it for $300.00
also how old is your dryer
Call the Gas Co. & have them take a look at your pilot light. Maybe it needs to be adjusted. As for your dryer buzzer, that may be another matter. If your dryer is still under warranty, have the Sear's repair man come to you home, otherwise, call the Gas Co. Make sure you always clean out your lint trap after each load, so you don't end up with a fire.
It sounds to me like your dryer is going into overtemp and shutting off due to tripping a safety mechanism. First if the exhaust is restricted in any way this is possible. Also lint build up is a fire risk as well as an airflow restriction. Gas dryers require all steel exhaust piping (do not use the plasic flex stuff). It's best to have a qualified technician check this out as nothing is worth risking a fire. If you don't know what you're doing don't risk it.
