How do you get rid of fumes after cleaning your oven?
Question:My self-cleaning oven has a broken latch so it won't self-clean. So, I used Easy Off, approved for self-cleaning ovens, and rinsed the oven very thoroughly after following the directions on the can of oven cleaner. However, when I next tried to use the oven, the fumes were horrible and burned my eyes and lungs. It was quite frightening! Do I need to ventilate and vacate the house and run the oven at 400 degrees for a couple hours to get rid of the residual fumes? What do I need to do? I am afraid to use my oven now. I really thought I had very thoroughly rinsed all the cleaner off the inside of the oven. Thanks for your help!
Answers:
.Mix some vinegar and water together and wipe your oven out with it. This should take the oven cleaner residue off.=)
I don.t have the answer but a suggestion. On your cleaner can is a web site or Phone # to call. please call them and ask them the question.Be very careful as I burned my lungs cleaning and can,t stand fumes now. Mixing other cleaners with what you already used could be very toxic.
