My decorative soap dispenser continually leaks drops of soap.?
Question:Any ideas on how to fix it? It is so pretty, but the drops and clots of soap on the counter and coming out of the spout are not. Thank you!

Great question! I have also had this problem but finally had the "why" explained to me. I purchased several "lotion dispensers" at Bed, Bath and Beyond to use for soap dispensers because they matched the other accessories (shower curtain, soap dish, tissue holder, toothbrush holder, cup etc.) and they just won't work with the soap I put in them. I would put the Softsoap brand liquid antibacterial soap in it and it wouldn't pump out and would leak soap continually even though it would not pump the soap out when I needed to wash my hands. The person who explained why this happens said that these are labeled "lotion dispensers" and they are not supposed to have soap in them, but lotion. The soap tends to be really thick and won't pump through the pump effectively as lotion would (lotion is thinner) since the pumps are designed to work with lotion not soap. The lady at Bed, Bath and Beyond told me that I needed to look for a dispenser that clearly says it's for soap and lotion, not just lotion and that is why I am having so many problems.
SO, what I would suggest is trying to find a decorative soap dispenser that actually has soap IN IT already (you can find some really pretty ones in boutiques and Marshalls and Home Goods (TJ Maxx's home stores) as well as TJ Maxx. They have pretty flowers and colored glass in the bottles and look very nice sitting on the counter and they do NOT leak soap! GOOD LUCK! I sure hope this helps!
OH, these things are always like this! I'd use it for decoration only -- and use the soap from the container in which it comes..
