How do you get yellow stains out of a white afghan?

Question:I have a hand-knit, white cotton afghan. It's a fisherman knit, so pretty thick. It has some dark yellow and brownish stains on it. I don't know what they're from; I found them when I pulled it out of the closet. What's my first plan of attack?

I can suggest this. Wash with some natural soap, rinse well & hang oustide in the sun, If you have a nice garden with a nice patch of grass,lay on top of the grass, the sun will do the rest of the work for you , by bleaching out the stain the natural way. Also wait for a nic hot sunny day, and every so often sprinkle cold water over the the yellow spots, This is the old fashioned way, my great grandmother did this with with all her white clothes , when ever they had stain´s & they all came out. I do the same. I my whites are whiter than white
